This was BY FAR the toughest CWNP exam I've taken to date. The level of detail in the CWAP was tough. You really have to understand how the frames are formatted and what is going on. I remember being in school learning the Cisco coursework and thinking "Who really knows how to read packet headers?", well guess what, if you passed this exam- You Do! More than the headers, and the RF, and the authentication messages, what you get from studying this exam is really how the information is exchanged to connect and pass traffic on a properly configured network. As a result of learning this, if it's not showing the expected results, its likely misconfigured or not working altogether.
It is very clear to me now why this was recommended to me as the second exam to take after completing the CWNA. It's tough, it's detailed, it paints the low-level picture for connectivity. It would dovetail very nicely into the CWSP which builds upon a lot of the knowledge learned here. I also think that this exam is one where someone who works in a wider-disciplined wireless role has an advantage. It touches many areas, lots of them having to do with the physical. A keyboard jockey like myself may have a harder time than someone who walks around with a Sidekick all day and generates deliverables to clients.
